Fall is just around the corner. For those who love watching the leaves turn from green to orange and red, these autumnal hues may just be the perfect inspiration for your workspace!

These subdued tones of mossy greens, burnt orange, and woodsy browns will help introduce a bit of color into your workspace without having to steer too much into a color-saturated scheme. But don’t be mistaken, darker tones can still create cozy atmospheres and help establish a consistent background to brighten accents of colorful décor or pair it with contrasting hits of milky pink and cream.

Earth-toned palettes are also very flexible. You can easily pair up a brown color scheme with some marble and wood flooring to create a more upscale environment.

For the latest installment of our “Color Revelations” series, we take a look at autumnal hues of mossy greens, burnt orange, woodsy browns, comforting sand, antique white, and ancient rose. Read on to see how to incorporate them into your space, whether in an office, home, educational, or hospitality setting.

Where These Colors Work Best

Darker earth tones evoke feelings of tranquillity, a very necessary emotion in a stressful office setting. Green promotes health and success, which works well for workspaces that want to attract the energy of money. On the other hand, lighter tones of green can help instill feelings of calm and peace in employees while reducing anxiety and stress, an important aspect of creating happy and healthy workspaces. Additionally, pink evokes casual and cozy vibes and can have a relaxing effect on colleagues. Finally, creamy whites convey feelings of sterility and cleanliness.

Libraries and research rooms can benefit from these colors, which help stimulate concertation and are conducive to reading and studying. They can also work well in dedicated office areas for focus work and setups for well-being.
